Olympus Image Space @ The Loading Bay

We joined Olympus last week for the exciting Image Space exhibition held in the hustle and bustle of London’s Brick Lane at the Loading Bay gallery. As well as a celebration of the newly launched OM-D E-M1, the 6-day show featured the stunning images of Gabrielle Motola, whose series 'Women of Iceland' was all shot using her OM-D E-M5.

Following the launch, the gallery was open to the public where visitors who wished to book-on, were treated to free photography workshops running through-out the week hosted by Olympus pro’s Damian McGillicuddy and R. Cleveland Aaron. With entertainment provided in the form of urban performers such as parkour, bmx riding and football tricks there was plenty of visual indulgence designed to test the speed and performance of the Olympus cameras – which were available on loan to all participants of the workshops – for many, this was a chance to get their hands on the new E-M1 for the first time.

Gabrielle’s series showed a considered insight into the personalities of influential women in Iceland, exploring identity through varied jobs and roles within society. Each image, in beautiful saturated colour told a story of its own. This emotive series was also joined by a set of images from Olympus Ambassadors, including Jay McLaughlin, Damian McGillicuddy, Nicholas Gooden, Adam Thirtle, Jeremy Hunter, Steve Gosling, Mike Bunn, Neil Buchan-Grant, Jonathan Posner, R. Cleaveland Aaron and Candice O’Donnell.
