An experienced commercial, portrait, wedding and landscape photographer, Mark Cargill has many strings to his creative bow. He has also tutored in photography for the past 12 years and became a mentor for Olympus in 2014, specialising in landscapes.

Mark’s commercial clients have included the Royal Bank of Scotland, Baxter Fine Foods, the prestigious Skibo Castle and the Balmoral Hotel, while he has been the focus of, and contributor to, many articles across the consumer photographic press.

Passionate about photography for as long as he can remember, Mark tells us his photographic epiphany occurred when he was just six years old. As an uncle retrieved a camera from its case and the light caught the lens and body just so, the young man watched in awe. It was love at first sight.

“I then spent every available moment taking pictures and waiting impatiently while they were developed,” he recalls. “It wasn’t just a technical process for me, it was an emotional one. Nothing before or since has had such an instant impact. Needless to say, it’s my life’s passion.”
