THE PHOTOGRAPHY SHOW 2017: YOUR PRE-SHOW GUIDE…
Luckily, we’re in your corner. Here are our pre-show highlights…
The OLYMPUS Stand (all show long, stand D91)
We’re not just saying that: OLYMPUS is going to be HUGE this year at The Photography Show. Want to hear Olympus Principal Photographer Damian McGillicuddy talking lenses? Head to the Toute Suite on Saturday or Sunday at 11:05. How about a macro photographer masterclass with none other than Marcus Clackson? Hit the Olympus stage at 12:15 on Saturday. Wildlife photography? Pro Tesni Ward has you covered on Sunday and Monday at 11:00.
You’ll also be able to get hands-on with all sorts of pro OLYMPUS gear such as the OM-D E-M5 Mark II and its assorted pro lenses – and for existing OLYMPUS owners, you can check your pride and joy in with us for a free “Clean and Check” service to keep your kit in tip-top condition. Here’s the team from last year after servicing an astonishing 160 bits of kit in a single day – will yours be among their number in 2017?
Talks and workshops
The Photography Show is as much about learning and improving as it is trying out tasty new bits of kit. That means you’ll find a variety of talks and workshops designed to get you thinking harder, shooting more creatively, and pushing your business to its next level – or getting the first few steps of your business underway.
For example, you’ll find Martina Govindraj talking mobile photography and social media on the Mobile & Social Stage on Sunday at 13:00, or OLYMPUS favourite John Nassari talking Turning Pro on a panel in the Toute Suite on Saturday and Sunday from 16:20. Shoot fashion? Hit the Live Stage at 14:00 to find Jay McLaughlin taking a fashion shoot from A to Z.
Not got tickets yet? You’ll need them. You can always get one on the door, but the smart money is on picking up one of the early bird specials here. Professional photographers get in free, and those making their way by rail should bear in mind tickets booked directly with Virgin Trains will bag a 25% discount on their ticket.
Get the app
You know what the NEC is? Big. Really big. And sure, there are maps dotted around, but you may find that the official app (grab it here) comes in handy – it comes complete with show timings, cash points, maps and more, as well as the opportunity to win exclusive prizes.
Got your tickets? Get your notebook at the ready and hop on over here to see everything else that we’ll be doing at the UK’s premier photography event. See you there…
