University Parks in the ‘city of dreaming spires’; Oxford, was the venue for this year’s spectacular photography event with our old friends Giffords Circus.

With this being Olympus’ 100th year our invite list was expanded to 100 photographers plus their guests for an afternoon of equipment testing, circus themed workshops, photo opportunities and an exclusive performance of Giffords’ latest production ‘Xanadu’.

Getting hands-on with a huge selection of the latest Olympus cameras and lenses, participants attended workshops and seminars by Olympus Ambassadors Marcus Clackson and Mike Inkley.

Following this there was an opportunity to photograph the vintage-style circus site, the circus girls (in full costume of course!) and attend a selection of mini-workshops run by the inimitable Olympus experts.

Then it was time to gather in the circus tent for the main photographic event: a performance by the talented stars of the latest circus show, exclusively for attendees to photograph.

And what a wonderful show it was! With tea and delicious cakes provided during the interval, the show provided superb and challenging subject matter for the attended photographers. It was then time to reluctantly hand back the camera equipment, collect a goody bag and head off with memory cards full of extraordinary images from the day.

Thanks, of course, go to Giffords Circus for their hospitality and talented performers as well as providing the wonderful setting for this superb day of photographic fun.
