On a fine summer’s afternoon, in the grounds of the majestic Blenheim Palace, with Giffords’ 2018 production ‘My Beautiful Circus’, 60 lucky photographers gathered for the circus themed photography workshop.
Getting hands-on with a huge selection of the latest Olympus cameras and lenses, participants took turns at a selection of macro, portrait and action themed workshops around the site.

The portrait sessions – directed by Olympus legend, Gavin Hoey – featured the hugely talented Nancy Trotter Landry, Giffords’ principle clown Tweedy & the acrobatic Lisandra with her silks. Meanwhile, Olympus Ambassador Mike Inkley concentrated on capturing high speed action outside: 4th generation circus performer Dany Reyes displayed his juggling skills, Cuban acrobat Alfredo showed off his tumbling prowess (and muscles) and the ‘Circus Sauce’ team also got in on the action with a display of Pizza dough spinning.

We then moved back to the main tent to photograph a selection of the circus acts: the Curatola Brothers, Tweedy the Clown and a heart-stopping Risley acrobatic display by the Diaz brothers.
Then it was time to reluctantly hand back the camera equipment and with goody bags, tea, cake and some friendly camera chat to send us on our way we departed with memory cards full of extraordinary images.
Thanks again to Giffords Circus for their talented and hospitable performers plus the incredible setting for this great day of photographic fun.
