HIGHLIGHTS: OLYMPUS AT THE PHOTOGRAPHY SHOW
This year, the National Exhibition Centre (Birmingham NEC) played host to one of the UKs biggest photography events – The Photography Show. There was something there for both Amateurs and Professional Photographers alike, including talks and seminars from some of the greatest living photographers.
Over at Olympus, we had a jam-packed 4 days with a host of brilliant things for photographer to get stuck into. Here’s a few of our highlights.
Continuing from last year success – and as we’re a generous lot – we decided to give something back to help those poor sufferers of Post DSLR Syndrome. As they had been carrying those cumbersome cameras all day a free massage and some mirrorless sympathy was sorely needed. In fact, it was so bad, I’m pretty sure I spotted Don McCullin shed a tear as he walked by…
Over at the Olympus Clinic, two of our expert camera technicians flew over especially for The Photography Show and were offering free camera, lens and sensor cleaning to all Olympus users. They worked tirelessly throughout the four days cleaning countless cameras and lenses.
Centre stage was occupied by a variety of Olympus Ambassadors hosting sessions including Damian McGillicuddy on High Impact Portraiture.
We even had performers showing off their football tricks, Capoeira, stunts and acrobatics for people to photograph with the Olympus cameras dotted around the main stage.
Things got seriously messy when Damian McGillicuddy got let loose with some paint.
In the back room there were Seminars from the Olympus Ambassadors. Edmond Terakopian talked through his award winning videos and images. Ed Farrelly spoke about climbing peak Khan Tengri solo and shared some of his images. John Nassari talked through his decision to ditch the DSLR for his wedding photography. Steve Gosling showcased his incredible landscape photography and Rob Pugh walked an audience through shooting bridal portraits and many many more.
But most importantly…
Everybody got a chance to have a go with the fantastic camera kit.
Thank you to everyone that came to see us – The Olympus Team
