If you missed out on the live session you can now catch up on this fantastic Facebook Live with Olympus Ambassador Gavin Hoey! In this session he covers his essential photography tips to help you make amazing close up photos of colouring pencils at home.

The humble colouring pencil might not sound like the most exciting starting point for photography but, as Gavin will demonstrate, there’s plenty of ways to get creative with pencils. From patterns to bubbles, this shoot at home session is packed with simple ideas that will get you reaching for your camera.

To create maximum impact, Gavin will be using the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III and the 60mm Macro lens to get in close and really fill the frame. Good photos always need good light and although this session could be completed with natural light, a small off camera flash is Gavin’s preferred light.

This is a stay at home photo shoot and although Gavin will be using his Olympus kit, the information will be relevant to all photographers, regardless of what camera brand they’re using.
