LDN REiMAGINED WITH ROBERT JOHN
Saturday 1st February 2020 @ 10:00am - 12:00pm UTC+0£20
Published author and artist Robert John joins Olympus at the After Nyne gallery in Holland Park for a workshop that explores the use of Olympus cameras in his surrealism photography of London.
As well as being a published author and artist, Robert has curated many art exhibitions in London, has been nominated for a Webby Award and has been featured in print and online media, as well on live radio and TV. Selected by Foyles, Waterstones, Libreria, Blackwells and many other leading booksellers, Robert recently launched his book successfully in a solo exhibition at London’s Zari Gallery (he will be signing copies on the day)
Robert’s work was inspired by his late father who lived with Parkinson’s and developed Parkinson’s dementia, his father began seeing things which were not visible to anyone else. This made Robert think about what our concepts of reality are and what we choose to actually see.
During this exclusive event, Robert will explain in detail how the Olympus camera is a perfect conduit between the world we live in and the surreal world he creates. He will demonstrate how he plans, shoots and works with RAW files and edits the images to create the final artworks in his book. The workshop will also have an interactive element which will engage the imagination of all that attend.
