Join us at London’s After Nyne Gallery for the private view of 45RPM: a collaboration between Godfather of Rock Music Photography, Gered Mankowitz and Royal Portrait Painter, Christian Furr.
As a teenager, Gered Mankowitz was asked by Andrew Loog Oldham to photograph the Rolling Stones and at the age of 28, Her Majesty The Queen chose Christian Furr to paint her portrait – the rest is history.
Both artists have since honed their crafts and are globally recognised in their fields. In the early nineties the pair met and became friends which has ultimately led to their individual oeuvres merging today in a stunning new art collection – 45RPM – which fuses Furr’s distinct painting style with Mankowitz’s classic images.
To coincide with the London exhibition there will be a VIP private view taking place at After Nyne on Thursday 16th May from 6-9pm. Attendees will be treated to delicious Le Grand Noir wine, fine company, and a collection of iconic prints available to purchase on the night.
The artists (Christian Furr and Gered Mankowitz) will both be in attendance on the night, giving a brief talk about the project and allowing you the opportunity to ask any questions.
