Sunday 2nd May

Spend the day with wildlife photographer and Olympus mentor Rob Cottle, as he takes over the @OlympusUK Instagram Stories from dawn to dusk on Sunday – officially ‘Dawn Chorus Day’!

As many in lockdown have found, spending time watching and listening to birds is a total joy and a tonic to your mental health; imagine them as your feathered psychotherapists but without the cost. Have you thought about recording them for future playback at your leisure or improving your video audio?

Set your alarm clocks (or be clever and watch it later) and join ‘friend of the feathered’ Rob Cottle for the excruciatingly early but vastly rewarding Dawn Chorus Day at 4.44am Sunday 2nd May. Rob will not be only listening live to his favourite nature hymn ‘Hark, the Feathered Angels Sing’ but also recording it on the LS-P4 digital recorder. Rob will show you the set-up, recording format and the basics of manual recording. To coincide, a blog will follow shortly after where Rob will explain recording and processing basics in a lot more detail along with audio recordings that will be available as a free download – including over an hour of the dawn chorus in glorious stereo.

No booking necessary for this online event – just make your way over to the OlympusUK Instagram Stories on Sunday 2nd May to take part (or watch later at your leisure).
