Join seasoned photography guru Angela Nicholson on a dynamic photowalk exploring London’s magnificent urban landscapes.
You will learn a range of methods to create images with impact – from shooting abstract areas of light & shade to contrasting old & new buildings within the same frame. Whether you choose to shoot wide to capture London’s iconic skyline, or get up-close to capture hidden patterns in bricks, paving stones and windows, you’re bound to leave with plenty of unique shots.
There are few people who can claim they know as much about photography as Angela, having reviewed cameras for the likes of Amateur Photographer, Tech Radar and Future, she is now one of the team masterminding the exciting new photography website Camera Jabber. So whether you’re new to photography or already a keen enthusiast, this photowalk will provide an unrivalled opportunity to learn photographic techniques from one of the most respected names in the industry.
Angela will kick off the event at our Art Bermondsey Project Space gallery with a talk introducing the process of shooting images on an Olympus camera and providing inspiration for the day. You will then venture into London’s characterful streets to start shooting. During the walk you’ll cover a range of different techniques, including (but not limited to) improving composition using in-camera aspect ratio control, using the tilting screen & touch control for more creative images and having fun with the camera’s Art filters.
Whichever style of photography you specialise in, enrolling on this creative stroll will provide the opportunity to enhance your street photography skills, utilising the latest and greatest Olympus OM-D system cameras. Whether you are already a proud Olympus owner or are looking to try something new we will have a number of cameras available to try on the day, as well as a selection of M.Zuiko lenses. Now’s your chance to have a go at using Olympus’ awesome prime lenses, or try out shooting wide-angle for images with maximum impact and context.
The walk will run for approximately 2 hours and will finish back at the gallery where there will be an opportunity to take a look at everyone’s images and compare notes.
Before the event, check out Angela’s video on the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 45mm 1:1.2 PRO.
